Design and make your very own handmade organic ring. Add gemstones (optional) custom textures, engravings and fingerprint impressions - then have your creation cast in a precious metal of your choice. Choose from sterling silver, solid gold (9-18ct yellow/rose/white) or brass and only pay (by weight) on the day of your workshop for the material used in your creation. Please read below to understand the pay-by-weight and casting process.

Join us at Belconnen Arts Centre for a hands-on jewellery making workshop where you'll learn the foundations of traditional lost-wax casting — no experience required. Over two fun and practical hours, our experienced jewellers will guide you step-by-step as you create a unique ring of your own.

Due to the high-quality materials used, your new ring will also be water, sweat and rust-proof - giving you the peace of mind to wear them where you like.

What to Expect:

Everyone makes one ring each on the day. Your creation is then cast in metal and professionally finished to your choosing by our team. The finished piece arrives at your doorstep 3-4 weeks after your workshop :)

1. Learn the Techniques: Our teaching team will guide you through the fundamentals of lost-wax casting. Learn how to include gems or other features in your piece - then it's over to you!
2. Time to Create: Personalise your ring however you like. Add textures, fingerprint impressions, engravings and gemstones (optional extra). You decide the size, look and shape of your piece. 
3. Weigh and Pay: At the end of class, weigh your final ring and select a precious metal to cast it in - with the peace of mind you'll only pay for what you use. Because you have creative control over the size, weight and precious metal you choose, the cost of casting your ring is up to you. Options for all budgets are available. Most cost $50-150 depending on your selections.
   
4. We Take Care of the Rest: Leave your wax rings with us and our local team of jewellers will cast and polish the piece to your instructions. Similar to ceramics, the casting, clean up and finishing process with lost-wax casting takes around 3 weeks to complete. Once finished, we’ll ship your ring directly to your door with tracking provided.

• 2 hours of expert, hands-on guidance from experienced jewellers
• Professional casting, finishing and polishing of your final piece to your instructions

• Shipping of the finished ring from our workshop to your doorstep (with tracking)
  
• A $50 discount when you book for two people (included in discounted two-person ticket prices)

• Please note gemstones are provided on the day as an optional extra but not included in the ticket price ($10-30 extra)
• Please note the precious metal required to cast your ring is not included. Participants will choose their own desired precious metal and pay for this (by weight) on the day. Prices are clearly communicated during the class so there are no surprises. Generally, most rings range from $50–$150, but they heavily depend on your design and metal choice. 

Our class is the perfect date night, a great shared experience or enjoyed on your own. We also offer private bookings for corporate or group events. Bring along another person and save $50 (included in two-person tickets).
